19 year old Megan - She is my motivation!
•Posted on April 02 2025

I found an old picture > my graduation photo from cosmetology school.
At this time, I was in an unhealthy relationship, felt very lost, was a full-on people pleaser, was full of anxiety, was scared to venture out in the big world, and couldn't make a decision to save my life.
I wish I could tell this girl from 19 years ago that she would meet the man of her dreams and he would love her like crazy.
She would still feel lost sometimes, but God would always help her navigate the path less traveled, but one that was more abundant.
I would let her know that she would eventually get stronger, develop better boundaries, and that her people-pleasing would be a gift more than a curse. But it is something she will forever have to keep in check.
I would lovingly whisper that she would still not be able to control her anxiety on her own but would eventually get help from faith and a pill.
I would let her know the world is not as scary as she thinks and that getting uncomfortable is a good thing and it will allow her to make bigger dents in the world.
Also, her ability to make a decision still sucks but she will make them anyway and do things scared and celebrate the successes and learn from the mistakes.
I would let her know that I got her back and we are going to learn and grow constantly because SHE MATTERS and she is worth it!
I challenge you to take some time and go back to your younger self, what would you tell that girl?
With love + friendship- Megan May
