An Icepack to the Rescue!

About a year ago, I got a pinched nerve in my lower back. Naturally I ignored it thinking it would go away and it ended up doing the exact opposite by debilitating me so much that one morning I woke up and could not get out of bed.
Like I had to call my husband from work to come back home and help me (aka carry me) to a chiropractor. It was awful and took several treatments to get back to walking normal.
Well I felt the same thing happen to me last week. I had a garage sale and I felt it giving out a bit on and off and I knew I couldn't ignore it. The timing was even impeccable as my husband was headed off to Kansas for work for the week so I was alone with the 4 kids.
So over the weekend I took care of me and grabbed my most favorite thing we have for "hurts" in our house- My rice heating/cooling pack.
That thing whether you microwave it or freeze its has been amazing
It magically makes my kids anxiety go down when its flaring up
It magically helps with tummy aches
It magically helps the owies heal
And for me, it magically sat perfectly in the back of my high-waist pants either heating or cooling my lower back while I worked, grocery shopped, ran my kids to summer activities, and everything in between.
If you NEED this item in your home to help with all those things, it's on my website (made by a small-town Minnesota mom). I love the size for necks, tummies, and lower backs.
But on the other side, it makes me try not to take my amazing body for granted. How it functions, moves, and allows me to do all the things I want it to.
This last week was a hard reminder of how fast things can happen. How fast something can change. How fast we can go from being healthy normal functioning people to the exact opposite.
Why we have to wait for bad things to happen to appreciate the little things is so human. So for me, I am going to choose to wake up and be thankful for both the big and little things and I challenge you to do the same!
Until next time my friend- Megan
