Three years ago I was a boutique and flower shop owner getting ready for one of the biggest holidays of the year - Valentine's Day.

However, that was not the only thing I was preparing for. There was a young woman from Florida due any day with a baby girl and out of all the women in this world, she picked me to adopt her baby.

My life was about to change radically.

Three years ago, I made it through Valentine's Day as mentally best as I could, went home and packed my bags, and the next day I hopped on a plane with my best friend (that is a whole blog of its own but if you are curious I did a podcast episode #14 about it) and we flew to the sunny state of Florida arriving in at 10 pm.

Three years ago, I hardly slept knowing this young woman would be getting induced the next morning. She would then give birth to the most perfect baby girl. She would hold her and love her fiercely and I would mentally and emotionally experience the hardest two days of my life.

Her greatest loss became my greatest joy.

In the last three years, I have learned so much about being an Adoptive Mom. I have made a lot of mistakes and did a lot of things right. In this week's podcast episode, I take some time in reflection and share with you a bit of my heart.

We all make some very big decisions in life. You may not have been called to adopt however, you might have been called to change carriers, get married, move away, have a baby, or sell your home. There are endless big life-changing things that can happen to you and I believe there are pieces of this episode that can be helpful for you. If nothing else, I encourage you to take some time and reflect on the things you have learned from that big thing. The good and the hard and everything in between.

I also encourage you to never stop learning and growing. We owe that to ourselves and the people around us. When we know better, we do better.

Happy Valentine's Day my friend and I truly hope you know how much you are loved in this world!

Love + Friendship, Megan May
