Failing Forward

Ideally, I wanted to just delete everything I posted and act like it never happened. Like my vision wasn't too big, my belief in it wasn't too big, my confidence in it wasn't too big, my embarrassment wasn't too big... I wanted to hide and shrink back and let everyone know the idea never existed.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱.

How am I supposed to make people feel that their dreams and ideas and visions matter, if I fail to believe that myself?

On April 13th, after praying for a "Hail Mary" at church, hoping my phone would blow up with sales, the exact opposite happened. I went home and knew I had to cancel this event and refund the few tickets I had sold, and started deleting my posts with a heavy heart.

𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞.

The vision, the plan, the speech, the place, the food, the vendors. EVERYTHING. The only thing I failed to realize was that May is an extremely busy time of year. Heck, I picked May 3rd because it was the ONLY weekend I had open in all of April and May. But with everything we do, we take a risk that it might not work out, and when that happens, how do we fail forward???

We do that by allowing the emotion to happen. The disappointment, the frustration, the embarrassment, and everything in between. Then you get back up and lean in, and pray on what is next.

So here I am announcing that "Mommin' Ain't Easy" isn't launching "𝙔𝙚𝙩" but you best believe it will happen, in its right timing. And when it comes, it is going to be even better than I have dreamed for me and for YOU!

So your visions, dreams, and ideas DO matter. Especially in God's perfect timing. So, may this be your reminder to get up and keep moving forward. There are people out there depending on you to fail forward.
