I was pretty uncomfortable last week

I got uncomfortable. For 10 short days.
I got uncomfortable leaving my husband, 4 kids, family, and friends behind, trusting a very unknown journey.
I got uncomfortable traveling between car and plane for 27+ hours one way across the world, driving and flying to places I never imagined I would.
I got uncomfortable stepping foot in another country, in unknown territories, with an unknown language and belief system.
I got uncomfortable traveling with 8 semi-strangers sharing very different personalities, moments of exhaustion, laughs, stories, bathroom fears, deep conversations, and so much more.
I got uncomfortable meeting people with a different background, ethnicity, religion, dress code, point of view, and culture.
I got uncomfortable being educated and stretched and ultimately allowing God to break my heart for what breaks his.
I got uncomfortable being treated with such hospitality, grace, and love from people that the world told me were strange, wrong, unkind, rude, and different.
I got uncomfortable while giving hugs, handshakes, sharing good food, laughter, and making friendships with people I had never met before.
I got uncomfortable coming home with a deep realization of how uneducated, conceded, and influenced I am by worldly lenses instead of God's lenses.
I got uncomfortable. I am SO thankful I did!
I highly recommend for all of us to start getting more uncomfortable in life. Itβs in those times and situations where we learn and grow and allow our hearts to get a good reality check. Friends, when we know better, we do better.
***Also, toilet paper might not be a universal and appreciated necessity to all of us around the world, but a smile sure is. Itβs understood and appreciated wherever you go.
With Love + Friendship, Megan
