Just ugly crying over here.....

Today was my first born child's official last full day of Elementary school. I am trying to wrap my head around how those last 6 years have flown on by.

I was just dropping her off from Kindergarten, chubby cheeks, pigtails, and a cute dress on, and she confidently said "Bye Mom" and ran to play with the other kids and I ugly cried it all the way back to my car.

And today, I dropped her off for her last full day of 6th Grade, mascara on, high rise jeans and a cute top, and she confidently said "Bye Mom" and hurried into school so excited to be another day older while I ugly cried my way back home.

Although I have to say, her getting older, wearing my stuff and loving shopping, having mature conversations, and coffee dates with me is my favorite right now, I also know their will be a time where she will want me to back off so she can do more things with her friends vs her mom.

I know many women are miles ahead of me in all the "lasts" with their kiddos and some are behind me in these feelings. Either way I count my blessings to have these moments, this short pause in time and appreciation that I get to experience these things as a Mom even though its hard at times.

So as this school year comes to an end and all the fun summer activities get ready to start, I encourage you to take a short pause in time and feel all the good and hard feels of another year flying by and another season shifting and changing and know no matter where you are at in it, you are not alone.

PS. Is anyone else worried about how they are going to afford there kids eating habits this summer? My kids are like little vultures and I feel like I cannot keep up with groceries the way it is. Best of luck my friend!!!
