No lesson is ever wasted

Have you ever had that moment when something weighed on you repeatedly and you finally said YES to that thing? And it was amazing!!
I have had this happen for really big things. Like going on an adoption journey, hosting a women's event, writing a book, or moving to a different house.
I have also had this happen for smaller things like feeling prompted to pay for someone's coffee in the drive-through, send a certain text to a friend, or donate money to a certain cause.
It may take some time, but I feel like I am getting better at saying yes to those heart nudges.
But there are also times when I said "yes" to a thing and it was an absolute failure, not a good decision, and left me wondering why the heck it weighed on my heart over and over again.
That happened to me this summer and I share about it in my latest podcast episode.
I couldn't understand why the yes was such a disaster until months later when I was giving my oldest daughter a "life lesson" talk and got hit hard with my own lesson.
Sometimes those failures are made to take a step back, to humble ourselves, to pivot in another direction, or simply slow down, observe, and learn because we still need some time to grow and prepare before that next big thing or big season.
I hope this episode encourages you to know that nothing is missed or by accident. Failing forward is a beautiful thing and it often is what we truly need from time to time.
It is also really cool when we get to teach our kids how even as adults we are still learning and growing, making mistakes, failing forward, and need to sometimes sit on the bench longer as well.
Stay humble my friend, you got this!
