It’s official, in exactly 20 days, we’re closing on the home we’ve lived in for the past 15 years. The walls of this house have held some of our most beautiful memories, and also some of the most challenging ones. This is the home I brought all my babies home to. It’s been our safe place, our growing place, and our beginning.

But now, it's time for the next chapter.

Here’s a little backstory: we're moving about six miles east of here to Jake’s parents’ farm, which we’re purchasing. After lots of long conversations, prayer, and very clearly answered prayer, we know without a doubt this is where God is calling us next.

Still, when I got the official call with our close date, the emotions hit hard and the tears just came. Great things can also be emotional things, and that’s okay. If you’re someone who feels “big feelings” like I do, you know how important it is to let yourself feel all of it. It doesn’t mean you aren’t excited, it just means you’re human.

With all this going on, I’ve had to make the difficult decision to pause my weekly emails and blog posts for a bit. Between packing, planning, and preparing and being there for my kids, something has to give.

To add to the fun (and a bit of chaos), Jake’s parents’ new home won’t be ready until November, which means… where are we going in the meantime?

We are currently working around the clock to finish our tiny cottage, the one we’ve been building as a cozy couples getaway rental. Instead of guests, it’s hopefully going to be home to our family of six (yes, six!) for the next little while. One bedroom, one bathroom, and a whole lot of love, right?

Fun fact: It just got windows and a door last week. So there’s still a long way to go to make it livable. But talk about an adventure!

If you want to follow along, we’ll be sharing updates over on Instagram @maysstays. From finishing the cottage to moving day and everything in between, it’s going to be quite a ride.

One thing that isn’t changing? My weekly podcast will continue to be released every Tuesday as usual. So if you’re a listener, don’t worry, I’ll still be there with you each week.

Wishing you all a beautiful Fall season ahead. And if you would, I’d be so grateful for your prayers for our family, for strength and grace, and for me personally… to take this one step, and one day, at a time.

Trying not to focus on what the next 20 days will look like, but instead, choosing to enjoy the journey, the hard, and the good.

With love + friendship, Megan May
